Come March 29 most of the world will be watching a rare total eclipse of the sun.

Flight Centre has a package to Egypt, where you can see the eclipse. Priced from R15 425 per person sharing this package includes return flights to Cairo, transfers, three nights' accommodation in Cairo, solar eclipse viewing at El Salloum including overnight camping and folklore show, two overnight sleeper train trips, three night Nile cruise, and full day tours.

This eclipse is beautifully positioned in the center of the world. It even crosses the equator. It will be visible in Africa, all of Europe, most of western and central Asia, and the northernmost parts of India, although it will be a relatively small partial eclipse there, far from the path of totality. The path of totality starts in central Asia, crosses the Black Sea, crosses Turkey, the Mediterranean, northern Africa, and the southern Atlantic, finally halting on the easternmost tip of Brazil. Although most viewers will not be lucky enough to observe totality, lots of people will have a chance to see the partial eclipse.

Click here for NASA's page on the event. It has links to times and locations so you can find out what to expect from this eclipse in your region.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
