Hi everyone,

I am a new memeber of this forum. I will appreciate it very much if I can learn from your experience. I am looking for a mechanical latch that consists of a V- shaped guiding structure and two arms, which after closer will prevent escape of the handlebar and will put it into its seat. Can anyone advice please.
Thank you very much

Anything that you would like to know in particular? That is a rather open ended question

What you describe is almost certainly going to require a custom design. There are a lot of latches out there (Southco comes to mind) but the odds of finding something in a catalog that works are not good. Even if the geometry and kinematics match, it's not going to be "space rated".

SpaceDev recently aquired Starsys Research Corporation, which does the kind of thing you're talking about very well. They could do a custom design for oh I don't know maybe $250k at a very bare minimum (a total guess on my part).

I'll do it for you for $50k
