That’s very likely not a visible light image since very few, if any, surface features are found.

I suspect it’s a UV image of Venus.

UV images of Venus, all the way back to Mariner, do not show bands parallel to the equator but more like chevrons. The image does not come up on a Google image search. The article lists it as " image of Venus' orientation". The image is certainly AI.

That’s generally what I’m I’ve seen, too. But I’m not that knowledgeable on Venus imaging. I tried years ago to get a “true color” image of Venus and only found false color renditions.

But cloud structures vary. Try these from Mariner (UV & orange plus processing tricks)…
