From Palm Springs - I have been watching the moon and Venus and three other stars line up for several days. The moon is traveling up the imaginary line between them all. It looks like on June 30 (the blue moon) Venus and Saturn will be on top of each other. Comments please...

Here at: Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom. 51 degrees, 8' North. 0 degree, 53' East,
we wre plagued by high level Cirrus cloud, until about
two hours before sunset, it cleared.

The Sun was still well, up, & there was the crescent Moon, with Venus clearly visible
to the lower right, in FULL Daylight.

Later on atabout 10:00 PM GMT / 11:00 PM CET, it was still very bright in the northwest
(Astronomical twilight does not end here at the moment), but Venus, the Moon, &
Saturn formed a nice line.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. A couple of nights ago it was breathtaking with the crescent moon on the lower right, and the axis of objects (Venus, Saturn etc.) lining up with the axis of the crescent, like they were headed right for the "bowl" of the moon - I brought my wife and son out to see it...

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

A couple of nights ago it was too cloudy here to see that.

Later on I will look again. Venus is now clearly visible during the daytime now.

Unfortunately, it is clouding owver here.

It was sunny this morning, but since then it has both warmed up & clouding over.

Heavy rain is in the forecast.

We may get to see some Noctilucent clouds at some point. We are far enough north here.

Had some good displays last year, though none seen as yet this year.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. Venus and Saturn will be closest to each other (0 degrees, 39' 47") at 09:34 UT on July 1st. Pretty good guess you made!

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. Many astronomy programs can handle that task.

I happen to use SkyMapPro.

Venus and Saturn will be right next to each other on July 1st; the moon passes between them next month on evening July 16th in the US, and Venus will be higher than Saturn by then.

But the Krell forgot one thing John.
