Perhaps she should get a book with Number One front and center. Amongst other things, the book would need to give her a real name. I hope other books would treat that name as correct and use it too. (Burning Dreams centered around Pike, so other books based on the characters from The Cage might happen.)

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059753/

Majel Barret as (M. Leigh Hudec) played Number One so, perhaps the plot character's name would be simple: M. Leigh Hudec or Leigh Hudec?
I put on my robe and wizard hat...

In "Star Trek: Early Voyages" (Marvel comics - AKA: The Voyages of Captain Christopher Pike) her name is "Lt. Commander Eunice Robbins". This series included the events in "The Cage".

In the books "Star Trek: New Frontier" and "Captains Table: Where Sea Meets Sky" she's an immortal who has gone by many names including "Morgan Lefler" and "Morgan Primus", and mother of a regular character named "Robin Lefler". At one point she becomes disembodied and takes up residence in the USS Excalibur's computer.

In "Vulcan's Glory" she's an Ilyrian colonist named "Number One" because she's the top intellect of her generation.

The term "Number One" is commonly used in the British Navy for a ships 2nd in command.

I know humans in real life that make Vulcan's look like comedians, and most of them act like her

Before knocking those references at least look 'em up on Memory Alpha.

BTW: in Early Voyages she eventually gets her own ship, becoming Captain Eunice Robbins
