What do the "Topics" icons mean?

I've looked around but could not find an answer on this. What do the different icons in the "Topics" column mean?

Sometimes there is a circle with what appears to be a representation of text.

Sometimes the "text" is still and sometimes it is scrolling upward.

Somnetimes the circle and "text" are blue and sometimes they are red. (Are they also sometimes black?)

What do these different things mean? This might be good info for the FAQ.

At the moment I don't think any knows for sure. DH responded she didn't a while ago. I think we've deduced some of their meaning. Read this existing thread on this topic.

Thanks! It sounds like you are doing a good job deducing the meanings --- it would be great if there were a definitive answer though.

Mods, if you want to delete this thread or merge it with the exsitng one, that is fine with me. I'll check the other thread from now on. I didn't realize the topic had been started.
