What was that bright planet near the southwest horizon tonight at around 9:15 PM EDT tonight? I live near Dayton, Ohio. When I came in from outside I looked at a webpage showing the position of planets and it shows Mars and Venus close together low in the southwest. When I looked at it with my binoculars tonight it looked like a single planet and there was nothing nearly as bright anywhere close to what I was looking at. Can anyone out ther help me figure out which planet I saw? Thanks

It was Venus. Mars is muuuuuch dimmer (About 250 times dimmer) and would just like a reddish background star to the right, but since it was about nautical twilight (Sun only 13 degrees below the horizon) the sky was probabaly too bright to see Mars.
