I have an Orion Skyquest XT8, and unfortunately its too big for my apartment. There isn't enough space for it....so I'm going to get rid of my telescope. Besides I'm low on cash at the moment so the money will be a big help. I can't take it back because the 30 day warranty is up (bought it August 2005). I have the telescope, the 10mm and 5mm eyepieces that it came with, the finderscope, the Orion Moon filter, and an extra 32mm Highlight Plossl piece. So I guess my real question is, how much do you think I should sell this stuff for if I put it in my local newspaper? Dont want to deal with shipping on something so fragile and large, so it's best if I sell it locally. I live in the Bay Area...but will be moving soon to a bigger place. Once I do, I will buy a 12" Orion scope .

You could sell it locally but you probably won't get what you paid for it. .......E-bay is the way to go since you can charge for shipping and handling and set a reserve for the lowest price you can stand.

As far as how much to set the reserve (or bottom price).......... I wouldn't take much less than what I paid for it since it's not that old.

Frost

ASTROMART - Give it a shot, especially if you still have the original boxes - they ship well. Good luck. Or, you may want to try a local Astronomy Club.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting to get what I payed for it, but that's fine. I've never heard of that site, but I will give it a try. Thanks NEVERS
