For those interested in the transneptunian region, this White Paper for the Decadal Survey has been by Grundy/McKinnon et al

"Exploration Strategy for the Ice Dwarf Planets 2013-2022"

I've found it especially interesting, especially the complementarity, in the proposed program, between on ground/ observation-at-a-distance with space telescopes, and fly-by missions. I hope this will foster a New Horizons 2, which would ceratinly please Andrew...

Fascinating article Joel, thank you very much for bringing this here.

I see that Haumea is a possible prime target, very obvious really as to why.

Also I think perhaps a similar mission to Eris would not go amis either (would like Sedna too, but I think it would take far too long to accomplish with current means).

See that ARGO was mentioned in the References at the end, so that must mean that ARGO is still under consideration rather than scrapped (an up to date close view of both Neptune & Triton would be of immense scientific value).
