The search has begun for a new Clark Kent/Superman. Warner and director Zach Snyder want a relatively unknown (or not very well known) between the ages of 28 and 32, and they're "open to creating a star...".

This Superman is not going to be so much of a boy scout and the main villain is rumored to be Brainiac.

Brandon Routh from Superman Returns is out, and so it appears is Smallville's Tom Welling.

So, who do you think?

Someone who looks like Christopher Reeves and can act, hopefully.

I really think when they try to take a long term, existing character, and do things like make him "not such a boy scout",
or "give him depth and realism", they very frequently jump the shark.

It does seem like reboots of Superman end up with a not-a-household-name.

What was wrong with Tom Welling? Maybe they were thinking like me after all this time that he would never fly!

Clark flew earlier this season in an episode where Kara returned, but he got distracted and fell through the Kent's barn during a flying lesson with her. Later he was dancing with Lois in the barn and they both left the ground. They're on a runup to a confrontation with Darkseid, the major villain this season.

Other notables this season have been Brainiac 5, Aquaman & his wife Mera, Rick Flagg, General Lane (father of Lois), Lucy Lane, Dr. Amanda Waller of Checkmate & The Suicide Squad, and Granny Goodness - who is also from Apokolips and is working for Darkseid.
