Hello Friends! <br /><br />In one of my post I have mentioned about the quantisation of charge. We consider charge as quantised. Why is it so?And if so is mass also quantised? If yes then what is the smallest unit of mass?Does the string theory takes this into account? If no then why is this difference made with mass only as energy, charge etc all quantised? <br /><br />As always all the ideas & thoughts Are Welcomed

You are asking about Planck Scales! Google "Planck" for lots of web discussions!<br /><br />Some Planck Scale values: <br /> <br />Planck Mass (Quantun of Mass) = 1.2 x 1019 GeV/c2 <br />Planck Length (Quantum of Length) = 1.6 x 10-33 cm <br />Planck Time (Quantum of Time) = 5.4 x 10-44 sec <br />Planck Temperature (Quantum of Energy) = 1.4 x 1032 K<br /><br />BTW - Superstring Theories are trying to come up with a Planck Value for Gravity, but so far they haven't figured out how to do this. (Maybe they are looking at the problem from the wrong perspective...) <br /> <br /> <br />
