Will our galaxy really collide with Andromeda? Maybe not

Actually, this has not been settled yet. It all depends on dark matter and dark energy and gravity. It seems that dark energy may be on the decline and has changed since the start of our universe. It's possible that gravity may be different than we think, and may act differently at larger distances.

The jury is still out.
