Will Pluto receive an IAU number prefix?

I don't think we have to go back and assign Pluto a temporary designation. Ceres will still be Ceres and the Moon will still be the Moon, etc. This is just an issue of relationships and an attempt to disambiguate the Solar System by putting everything in its own little niche. <br /><br />Science is always trying to put things in their correct place to make the universe more understandable, and reclassifying Pluto is just a part of that ongoing process.<br /><br /><i>"Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself."</i> <br /><br /><b> - J. Ceres isn't just "Ceres" it's designation is "1 Ceres".
