Hi.

Every three months my company works off Alexa/Amazon's site rankings to track daily traffic standings of specific area sites. While it's not absolutely accurate, it's one of the best ways we have of ranking how sites are doing.

1st NASA.gov (No Change)
2nd Space.com (No Change)
3rd NASASpaceflight.com (New Entry)
4th Spaceref.com (Up One)
5th Spaceflightnow.com (Down One)

Other sites are not ranking in the top 100,000 range.

Thank you.

I do not want to use this post as spam, so if you are interested in our ranking lists, please PM me.

I always disliked logarithmic scales.

Without sites showing opening up server logs, or every single browser having spyware installed, it's the only thing we can really go on really. It does show patterns well and a good indication on sites of specific fields.

I like Spacedaily also.

'Space news' means what? Manned space flight and issues of deep space cosmology are as different as night and day as subject matters.

Space.com is my first choice for what's happening in space flight. It's not, however, my first choice in astronomy, cosmology, etc.

Frequency of visits can be a positive. Unfortunately, popularity and quality are not synonomous (think of most watched television shows). Space.com gets an A-1 for keeping us up to date on what's happening at NASA, etc. It does a 'good job' in astronomy, etc, but perhaps not enough meat on the bones for a real keener. Spacedaily is more frank as to trends, reality checks, etc. Let's put it this way: if I wanted to read about the details of a Shuttle mission I'd visit Space.com...whereas if I was more concerned about the viability of the mission actually happening I'd find more credibility with Spacedaily.

Like most things on the Net, the best strategy is to diversify sources of info.

Congratulations SRTF! That's fairly impressive for a site you started as a 'hobby' project.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!
