Would you like to see T'Pol turn out to be Sarek's mother?

T'Pol is the right age to be Sarek's mother and Spock's grandmother. What do people think?<br /><br /><br />Other possibilities:<li>Archer's descendants could include Amanda Grayson, Kirk, Rand, Ian Troi (?), and Riker. (I left Picard out because of his French ancestry.) Ditto for Trip's descendants.<li>Mayweather's descendants could include Geordi. (Uhura would not work as she was supposed to have been born and raised in Africa. However, <font color="yellow">her</font>descendants could also include Geordi.)<li>Hoshi's descendants could include Sulu and Keiko O'Brien.<br /><br /><br />I can just see Q showing up about the Enterprise-E demanding Picard's help setting the timeline straight after someone more powerful than Q messed it up. Who is T'pol, and why do we care again?.<br /><br /><img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /><br /><br />Ok Ok, so I have picked up from here, that T'Pol* is the stupidly named "Furrie" of Vulcans in the crew of the last ST series. Seriously, I have never seen that programme other than 10 minutes which , though I can not for the life of me remember more a tiny fraction of, instantly decided me on my feelings about the programmes worth.<br /><br />i.e. not worth the smashed TV screens that running it would cost.<br />It was so PITIFULLY acted, and almost the entirety of it was for the purposes of showing "beautiful" people that WERE NOT BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, I think what happened was, some execs' sat in a room and read a few geeks' web-lustings after Seven of Nine. And thought "Oh, that is all we have to do" . . . . and then , mysteriously FAILED to hire attractive actors.<br /><br />UGG!.<br /><br />( And why should peoples descendents be on the next series?. Didn't the Federation have hundreds of ships? )<br /><br />(Ignore me, i am feeling negative today.)<br /><br /><img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /> <br /><br />*I am sure they named T'Pol because they figured that all male geeks are actually closet poofter-heros, and they would make her subliminaly more attactive if they named her after a phalic symbol. Which explains them choosing a actress whom appears to have a mans face.<br /><br /><img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /><br />Bwahahaha, I excell myself!.

In fact, it was probably one of the better and more accomplished casts that recent series had. The acting was very good and convincing. I did have a few problems with a couple of cast-members but the other's skills outshadowed them. It's a good series, IMO.<br /><br />Regarding T'pol. I once thought as you did. But, then after watching the series I really think Jolene Blalock did a remarkable job. Some of the storyline's involving her character did border on the pornographic, I freely admit that. But, I fault the writers, not her acting. She really did a good job with what she had to work with and I think she presented the internal conflicts her character was going through very, very convincingly.<br /><br />I'd also give a plug for the best actor in any Star Trek Franchise: John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox). There is not one scene that he is in which he does not successfully "steal" from any other actor. He has a great screen presence and he's not a "face man" either. Of all the series, and I have seen them all, John Billingsley is probably one of the best character actors I've ever seen. IIRC, he also has an upcoming series in which he stars. So, I'll be looking forward to seeing that as well.<br /><br />Whenever you see "bad acting" look first at the writers. It's only after repeated performances that you can truly judge whether or not the actor has successfully portrayed a convincing character or is accomplished enough to do so. Obviously in retrospect it was the writers fault.)(Damn, I failed miserably with that serious thing there, did I not.)<br /><br />(And yes, I need glasses, but then I need hair too, if I got glasses, I would have to go from using the utterly excellent Shick Quatro shavers, to a straight-razor. Looked sort of like an older Marlon Brando.<br /><br />I think his presentation was sort of wooden but, then again, I also think he was doing his lines separate from the other actors for most of the scenes he was in. So he didn't have any feedback. (ie: He was superimposed on the scene for the special "glowy" effects." I could be wrong about that though.)<br /><br />Darnit, who was that guy? My cousin is one year older than me (43) and for some reason she and hubby thought they were off the hook. They actually stopped taking precautions, don't know why they thought such a thing.<br />She was 6 months pregnant and had no idea, and at a routine check up her Dr said "hehehe" .<br /><br />Her husband Col was ACTUALLY speechless, she told him while his mum and dad were over for dinner, for the protection of numbers, and he could only make noises for an hour, no coherent words.<br /><br />Hey are good about it now though, and the little girl perfect in every way, and everything worked out wonderfully.<br /><br />And we all got a good laugh.
