XP-1 First Flight Video

Japan's new Kawasaki XP-1 ASW/patrol aircraft made it's first flight on Sept 28th. Flight International has the article. The XP-1 will replace their P-3 fleet and is similar in performance to Boeing's 737-based P-8A Poseidon. <br /><br />http://flightinternational.com/xp-1flight

thats almost the same fuselage as the P-3. otherwise whole new aircraft. <br /><br />what gets me (slightly off topic) is that the navy is getting rid of the P-3's even though china's working on a new ballistic sub class. P-3's are workhorses that can fly 12 hours non-stop....im not too thrilled about the decomming of the many squadrons. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

As rubi says, it is being replaced by the P-8A Poseidon that I mentioned.
