I'd like to go this year, 12 hour drive is kind of tedious though.

Anybody attended? Whats the benefits of going/is it worth it?

I went last year. It was fun, but not really all it was hyped to be. Several launches were aborted due to wind, and to be honest, most of the stuff there was a bit lame.

Getting to see SpaceShip1 was pretty cool though, and Robert Picardo hosted, so that was a bonus. I don't think i'll be going again until there are actually races or space-bound launches scheduled for the event. Once was enough for now.

It being a 12 hour drive, you might want to reconsider. I'm reasonably into space, and a bit closer (lubbock, tx), and this is my reaction. Hope it helps.

Note that last year was "Prelude to the Xprize Cup", sort of a warmup, a dress rehearsal. They intend to have much more to offer this year.

I was hoping to go this year myself, however, I can't make it...
