The Mars Summit was inspiring. The 3 day event was informative and enjoyable to watch. Special thanks to Space.com for providing a platform to watch the event. If you are going to have a successful Mars Summit, if that is your goal then a very important step is to plan a date for the event. The summit will be held from May 16 to May 18. This part is crucial.
The question we all need to ask is why is this not crucial for sending humans to Mars. At one point speakers were even asked the all important question "When do you believe we will actually go to Mars?" Some said 2028, others said 2038. Who knows? Maybe later. President Kennedy did not pull any punches when he said, over 50 years ago "We choose to go to the moon in this decade..."
If you want to achieve a goal set a date for achieving it. Choose a date to land on the moon. Choose a date to land on Mars.
