(1)Is it possible to replace aviation kerosene with methane as fuel for jet?
(2)Methane is a new rocket fuel. So,Can the emergence of Methane Jet Engines make SSTO possible?

China launched recently into orbit a rocket powered with Methane, CH4. Yes, it's possible using methane, also ammonia, as fuel, let's see what happens.

Acetone as a Rocket Fuel?

This comment on the use of acetone is crazy. It seems that the energy density of acetone would be far too low compared with cryogenic fuels.

However what if the Raptor engine had a pre-catalyst converter to release the two methane molecules and the oxygen and carbon atoms that make up the acetone molecule?

Acetone has over a century and a half of innovation for storage and transport. It is ambient friendly and produced globally. Nature organically produces it also.

I would imagine that the real probability of methane use as a Jet fuel within the earth's atmosphere would depend on whether it's ratio of combustion to thrust capacity along with its load/storage capacity(?); will exceed its environmental impact capacity. As compared to kerosene-based fuels.

From post #7 reerence:

Storing and utilizing methane can be tricky and poses potential problems that may exacerbate the global warming issue we are currently facing today. It is highly flammable, which increases the risk of combustion given ideal conditions. [3] In addition, methane is considered to be 20-30 times more potent as a greenhouse gas compared to carbon dioxide. [4] Therefore, with the impending rise of temperature around the world, it is not too difficult to imagine a scenario when permafrost and methane hydrates will begin to thaw, releasing trillions of cubic meters of methane into the atmosphere and consequently accelerating global warming.
