Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

I did with my definition of "objective truth" Yes TOE is science. Yes because everything is physical unless you believe in non physical world?

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

@Catastrophe I think you're being unreasonable with your denial because you provide no alternative definition. According to your logic theory of everything should be disbanded, which is a good example of what I'm trying to define here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_everything TOE...

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

With current technological and human progress no one can answer the great questions. The map is not the territory but we need definitions. If you disagree with objective truth representing all the answers to existence then present an alternative instead of only denying.

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

This is exactly what motivated me to engage with previous posts, problem is that everybody associates truth with religions and beliefs, and associating truth with a god or similar which makes truth look like something explicit to faith, this is just wrong and abuse of the word. Yes, reality, or...

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

Are you referring to my posts? If yes, then belief in what? it looks you have misunderstood what I stated about objective truth. Objective truth as I've put it isn't about gods or deities but about reality.

But even science can go wrong, specifically with so many theories that contradict each other, so science is not immune to errors. The only positive thing about science in this regard is that it doesn't claim theories to be truth.

I disagree, "truth" is not a religious or philosophical thing. The only thing religious or philosophical about truth is that they (religious groups mostly but not philosophers) claim to know the truth while denying anything else that does not align with their teachings, including scientific...

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

There are documents proving that it was not alien spacecraft but an anomaly that made it look so. Such as pilot seeing anomalies in his visor during flight, that looked like spacecraft but it was not.

Definition of Universe requires clarification, to enable discussion

This suits a definition of observable universe. We know objective or actual universe is larger. Question is how should non observable universe be called if observable universe is synonym for Universe? edit: What I mean by "we know" is not that we have measurable proof but we know the actual...

Question Mars Colonization: A Bold Frontier or an Expensive Dream?

At the moment Mars is all about prestige, a country that sets foot on Mars first will benefit from prestige. Anything else like human colony is just expensive dream, maybe science station but not much more than that and even that is not priority since it's much cheaper and safer to send robots...

Are we alone? Intelligent aliens may be rare, new study suggests

These people who claim alien spacecraft or alien visitation are nothing new and there is quite a bit of them. But you need to know that in their society where they live they're being ridiculed and made fun of. Similar to David Icke, but at least he let us know his motives which are realistic...

    Orbitting farmlands

I've read several articles and concluded it all boils down to whether the policy resulted in their population being 400 million less than what it would be without the policy. This figure of 400 million which was proclaimed by them is obviously disputed because it's an estimation rather than...

    Orbitting farmlands

They have relaxed it and reintroduced several times already from what I've read in the past depending on how population composition develops and in accordance with statistics. But that's not the point, the point is that their policy helped to contain population growth to desired levels.

    Orbitting farmlands

Limiting population for sure but not with heavy taxation, high taxes only harm economy. So far a method of population limit that is proven to be working is China's one child policy - it doesn't harm their economy and also prevents excessive population growth. Yeah, space is full of minerals...
