A few things in relation to FTL travel

Thanks ram, having the fact that the universe doesn't operate on common sense actually really helps. I'll restate that I am by no means a scientist or physics person. I just don't understand it, so all my assumptions are made solely on common sense. The universe is laughing at me I guess . Hey, it is fun to learn about this stuff. Damn you physics and your blocking us from getting to FTL haha

Oh and Metric Buttload is one heck of a lot more than just a normal buttload, plus wouldn't it be more of an Metric Arseload (thanks british people for making language so much fun )
