A question to the space.com astronomers.

If i was asked the question, what is the closest star to our solar syatem? What would the correct answer be? Proxima Centauri?, Alpha Centaur? Please help. <h3> <br /> </h3>

Proxima Centauri...by a hair (astronomically speaking).&nbsp; However, Proxima Centauri shares 'common proper motion' with Alpha Centauri, technically making it part of the AC system.&nbsp;
