What sci fi movie is the worst ever. One that just made you cringe every time you watched it.

It's gotta be Mission Stardust...

Plot:
Mission Stardust, with a four man crew commanded by Major Perry Rhodan, is launched to the Moon. But the rocket is pulled off course by a ship containing two female aliens from the planet Archon who are looking for another humanoid race to breed with. One of the aliens is diagnosed with leukemia so Rhodan arranges a rescue mission to obtain an experimental cure from a doctor in Mombassa. But the mission is endangered by the Kenyan army and international criminals who want to get their hands on the Archons plentiful supply of diamonds.

Well, I've always thought that Plan 9 was the worst. But it's so bad that it's funny, so there is actually entertainment value there.

I don’t exactly remember the name (it was on MST3K) but maybe it was called something like “time chasers” or “time scanners.”

Anyway, the story revolves around this meat-head who invents a time travel device using apple computer equipment (really) and a small single engine airplane. Eventually, the bad guys take the technology and alter the future. There is also this lame-o air duel scene between his single engine and another single engine. It’s hard to explain exactly. Just think of the worst cast actor ever playing in a D movie.

MST3K did make it kind of funny, though.

My ultimate nominee would have to be, though, a movie called “murder cycle.” The plot is that an alien comes down to Earth in a rip-off of “predator” in a black Kawasaki motorcycle and shoots up a team of people one by one with a green laser beam emitter attached to the handle bars.
I didn’t like the remake of “Lost in Space” either. The plot was bad and “Joey” was in it.
The two matrix sequels were also horrible. It was basically “Ted Theodore Logan” vs. stupid plot and bad acting. I wonder who won that fight?
I'd have to say the worst I've ever seen is Deep Rising (bleh!), followed by Deep Blue Sea.

Although I haven't seen it, I hear Battlefield Earth is quite the stinker (as is anything written by Ron Hubbard and the Co$).

I guess I should be thankful so few of you have seen the movie Nightfall. I, sadly, will never be the same.

(not that I ever was)

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

Deep Blue Sea was bad, but you gotta love the part where Samuel L Jackson gives a great speech and gets munched down by a shark! I was laughing uncontrollably, rewinding and laughing some more many many times!

"Alien: Resurrection" was not just a bad movie, but it was so ill-conceived that it may have permanently destroyed any chance for a potential sequel to succeed.

Problems with the movie:

1) Bad, eerie lighting. It accentuated every flaw on Sigourney Weaver’s face. It was also depressing-all those weird browns.
2) Bad casting- Wynona Rider!
3) No plot.
4) What happened to “the company”?
5) James Cameron did not direct it.
6) Too much CGI-made the aliens look like cartoons; not very scary.
7) Is Ripley an alien now? That sucks.
Battlefield Earth was probably the worst Sci-fi movie of all time. Even Plan 9 from Outer Space seemed like a winner next to that piece of crap.

Even though I enjoy Star Trek, Star Trek V is a close second to Battlefield, sorry to say....
Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)

Worst -> Battle Beyond the Stars

Oh, come now, I loved Battle Beyond the Stars! I mean, a Magnificent Seven remake in Space with Robert Vaughn and George Peppard? It was awesome.

I do think that Nell the spaceship in that movie probably ranks up there with some of my favorite spaceships of all time, too. Quite unlike any other ships designed, especially at the time. I sort of liked the organic quality of it.

I will give you the fact that the bad-guys were pretty awful. Were they supposed to be all the same race, or were they just the members of a Galactic Mutant Conference that went terribly, terribly wrong?

No: I liked the movie a lot. If nothing else it didn't take itself seriously enough for it to be bad outright. And its a great space movie for a young kid (which I was when I first saw it).

edit: I forgot to mention the genuinely excellent soundtrack of this film; one of James Horner's first!

I'm laughing now just thinking about it! I think I rewound it 7 or 8 times...

"And the first thing we're gonna do is seal off this ship!" Dark Star, a very early John Carpenter flick about a bunch of losers where nothing happens..... Oh one of them has a pet which is quite obviously an orange beach ball with feet stuck to it......The worst by far, I would rather sit through Battlefield Earth. No disrespect to anyone who hated BFE, I did too.

To each his own.

Dark Star is a favorite of mine. I even have the DVD with commentary and multiple versions.

BTW, Alien is considered by several of us to be a remake of Dark Star. Also, compare the knife trick done by the humaniform robot in Aliens, with the knife trick performed by (IIRC) Pinback.

Considering Dark Star was shot for roughly $85,000, it probably yielded a better return on investment than the Star Wars series.

If it was just a bag of gas, how could it be alive? (that line puts me in hysterics everytime I see the movie, I can hardly type this now, for just thinking about it)

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

If you watch the dangling from the elevator scene closely, you can tell it was shot in a hallway with the camera turned 90 degrees. Brilliant use of a limited budget.

BTW, as near as I can tell, the DVD version has the computer display obscenity directed at their financier digitally removed (or else I just don't remember where in the movie it was. I swear it's on the VHS version, but I lent my copy out years ago and never got it back.)

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!
