A message from spacester -

"We need one person right now for assistant webmaster. Administrative clerical. Archive everything as we go, answer e-mail, log all communications, website traffic, takes surveys maybe."

It'd all be online. If anyone can help out, pm myself or spacester. Thanks.

(edited, see below)

Hi folks. We got one bite, but I think we had poor bait.

Not a very glamorous job description.

I'm putting together the content for the ACCESS website and structuring the organization at the same time. So it's not surprising that the job description has changed. In fact, it's two jobs now.

We're not trying to gain a huge following of the general public in the first six months. What we need to do is reach out to all the space groups out there - all of them - and tell them what we're up to. As we reach out to other groups, we will get volunteers.

But we need someone to keep track of all that contact and keep us organized and professional. Actually, what we need is an Liason. Add an Liason's Aide (um is there a word for that?) and we're set.

These would be two of the rare positions that we might transition to full time paid positions. Hard to say, no promises, but that would be the goal. You could work your way into a real job in the best case scenario.

I just want to give the folks here the first crack at helping us out, a chance at becoming a co-founder of an open source space program. I know the culture here pretty well, so would be surprised if the skepticism has been overcome. But there may be a couple lurkers out there . . .

Anyway, I'll be back with more detailed job descriptions. It might be a couple days though, lots to do.

If anybody likes the idea of being an unpaid Liason of ACCESS and would like to represent us to the broadest possible space community, please PM me or grooble here of your interest.

You would mostly just be sending e-mails out and establishing friendly relations. Get contact names and numbers, provide information, just tell them what we're up to. If you don't have an Aide, you would need to perform those duties as well.

The Aide position is open even if we don't have an Liason. With an Li

Hi folks, I'm bumping this to point out that I just edited it and to make an announcement. Our newest member suggested that "Liason" would describe the position much better than "Ambassador" and I agree.

Things are moving very very swiftly with ACCESS, but it's behind the scenes at the moment. Just a few more days . . . a week maybe . . . to have a website worth linking to . . . hard to do it and document it at the same time.

I'm thrilled to announce that we are actively moving down the road to establish 501(c) 3 (IIRC) Non Profit Organization Status as a Foundation. I have been advised to keep all details close to the vest at this point in time, and will try my best to contain my excitement and follow that sound advice.

This thread serves as a public record that we are moving forward and if any folks at space.com - or lurkers - or folks I send here to look - are interested in joining up, it's not like I didn't tell you what was going on. lol

I'll bump this thread twice more to serve its function as a public notice.

Thank you very much.
