Oh no. I am a fan of Sasha, but Buzz Aldrin is too sacred for that!
Rather than start a new thread, I have been wondering about a contradiction. Buzz continues to tell the story of how he used a ball point pen to manage the broken arming circuit breaker for the LEM ascent engine, but I have read a dozen books stating this was not true and that during the moon walk Grumman engineers and others devised a work around (apparently the LEM was wired for all types of redundant options). What gives here? Who is right?
Sounds like a question for Andy Chaikin. I too recall that it was a work-around. I would guess that by now it's possible that Buzz remembers what he was considering doing as opposed to what happened, but who knows?
I agree that he did great on the Ali G interview. I love Cohen, and I kinda hated to see him objectify all the silly things that way to many people actually thing ("What wos it like, walkin' on da sun?")... but heck, at least Buzz didn't deck him. Andy Rooney came damn close...
