Can anyone tell me if there is a public email address for the astronauts who will be flying on the next shuttle mission?

Thanks,

Jeff

I find that odd for three reasons:
1) Somehow I doubt the average astronomer (I can't name one except for a Canadian astronaut I saw on the news a lot a decade ago) would get more email than the average popular blogger. Not many people are really itching to email an astronaut.
2) Well-known people still often have email addresses with a secretary to check them over and only relay the important ones
3) Astronauts should be interested in connecting with the public considering what I've written in 1). We know they're there but as individuals, who knows? They could all be produced in a factory for all the average person knows. Even a person like me that has kept up with space news as much as possible since I was six doesn't really know all that much about them. Even worse, I once listened in on an interview with an astronaut on the shuttle that actually managed to sap some of the wonder I first felt when seeing the images. Something along the lines of "How do you feel?" "We are feeling fine. We woke up at 0630 hours and are now overhead (location x). We plan to commence operations for the day starting at 0800 hours and are looking forward to it." Snore. The guy was in space and having an interview on national tv and came up with an answer like that.

-----

http://mithridates.blogspot.com

1) You would be surprised and sadly some of them can be nuts and stalkers.
2) They don't.
3) Most astronauts and workers at NASA can barely keep up with the email levels already

There used to be an Ask the ISS/Shuttle crew section at NASA Human Spaceflight, but it seems to have been discontinued . (I tried sending a few but they never got answered...)

1) You could be a nut and a stalker and so could I. That's no reason to require correspondences on paper of all things. At the very least there should be a single email address for astronauts that can be filtered to individual astronauts if it's important. Even the White House has an email address.
2) Yes they do. I emailed the president of Opera (the third most popular browser) and got a response back from him the next day. The guy runs a hugely successful company in Norway and still was able to get back to me (because what I wrote was interesting), then forwarded the message I wrote to the pertinent department. That's what organizations need. NASA is leaps and bounds ahead of the ESA though of course in terms of pr.

-----

http://mithridates.blogspot.com

"2) Yes they do. "

Not sure your point - I was stating the astronauts don't have secretaries to screen email. The White House and president of Opera have a lot more money for things like that and (in the case of the WH) an army of people, CIA, FBI, secret service...
