In theory nothing can go faster than the speed of light, but if something did, would it have its own type of sonic boom similar to when we exceed the speed of sound? Could this be what FRBs are?

and yes I know the sonic boom would not happen in space but would there be another way exceeding the light barrier could make a powerful burst of energy?

Fascinating take. I think the more we learn the more things won't make sense. So who knows, could be a possibility.
