Although I enjoyed the finale, I have some questions.

Spoiler Alert (in case you've not yet seen it):

*How did Gaius Voltar obtain immortality? Did he join the Cylons so thoroughly that he became pure consciousness? I've missed many episodes due to international travel and such. But the prospect seems yummy, given who his companion is, and his ability to witness sooo much over time. ;) But can he participate as well? Next:

*Is the half cylon-daughter of Sharon the one they read about in the end as being the recently discovered mother of all modern human DNA, who lived in Tanzania? If so, then we're all part cylon? That might explain why the Centurions didn't destroy Earth's inhabitants, according to the storyline. As a follow-up:

*How long does a Cylon like Sharon live, anyway? If she's still alive, might she be single & available?

*When Adama mentioned giving a ship to the Cylon Centurions, was he referring perhaps to Cylons whom they had possibly kept as prisoners or something? Finally:

*Why haven't modern archaeologists found Adama's spaceship, or that of others who landed? Wouldn't parts of them survive 150,000 years of wear & tear? Perhaps they were lost in great flooding, or intentionally destroyed (like the Galactica, herself) to dissuade Cylons from visiting? Or maybe those who could finally get the heck outta Dodge after wintertime struck, eventually did so? :geek:

Hmm. A few errors in your questions, but I believe I can answer all of them:

You're confusing "head" Baltar and "head" 6, who appeared only to Baltar, Caprica, or in the scenes of the Opera House. It's plainly apparent that the two "head" characters are Angels or something similar. That's why they appear at the very end, 150,000 years post-end of story. Listen to what they say...there's no doubt this is the case.

Yes, Hera is the "Mitochondrial Eve." So true, we all would have a bit of Cylon DNA in us. On the other hand, the Cylons didn't destroy Earth because they sided with us, and we were faithful to them. Thank Adama for that. (note that all of the other pursuing Cylons who WERE trying to destroy us were destroyed in the events of rescuing Hera. So there is no one left to follow us anymore.)

Apollo isn't Cylon; Sharon is. And from what we've seen, Cylons live more/less as long as we do.

No, as mentioned, these are the Cylons who sided with the Colonials and helped them (e.g. the Cylons siding with Six, etc.). It was only fitting that they got the Basestar and could go, as Adama says, "to seek their own destiny."

I wondered this myself, and said to someone that it would be a great spinoff series if we (us, now) discovered Adama's 150k year old Raptor...with a functional FTL drive. No way to tell what the Colonials did with those ships, really. Anything is possible, and maybe Ron Moore left it open for this very reason.

Do these more/less answer your questions?

Thank you VERY much for the clarifications and points of view! :p

So the Cylons got the Battlestar Galactica? Is that what you mean by "basestar"? :? Ironic, isn't it?

Happy to help.

No, not the Galactica - that was flown into the sun with the rest of the Colonial fleet by Anders (who was trapped in a tank for the rest of his days anyways). The Cylons got the rebel Cyclon's Basestar.

That would be interesting. They could make a Ratselttab Acitcalag show where humans dig up the Raptor and get FTL tech and go looking for their long lost ancestors.

Maybe they could run into the Quantum Leap dude and Grace Park. One can never get enough of Grace Park.

A couple of follow-up questions please:

1) Regarding:

"note that all of the other pursuing Cylons who WERE trying to destroy us were destroyed in the events of rescuing Hera. So there is no one left to follow us anymore."

Then why did Starbuck and crew have to make the jump, which (inadvertently?) brought them to Earth? Of recent episodes, I only saw the final one, not the episode(s) immediately preceding it. And as a related question:

2) How did Anders (whoever Anders was before submerging) wind up in that tank? Presumably Anders is the one in the vat of water or fluid with whom the humanoid cylons had a high tech. seance of some sort? Anders had no particularly strong will to live, such that a one-way trip to the sun was acceptable? Thanks in advance for any follow-up clarifications...

That sounds like a more interesting SF show than the upcoming prequel "Caprica".

And FWIW it's Six I can't get out of my head. ;)

The reason Gallactica had to jump was because she was embedded in the exploding Cylon ship. They didn't "inadvertently" go to Earth. The re-born Starbuck had a tune in her head with notes that coincided with a drawing Hera made. She punched in the "notes" as the coordinates not really knowing what would happen. Voila! "Earth", or something like it.

Anders was a human-exposed-Cylon who suffered serious injuries during the mutiny. I'm not really sure why they stuck him in the resurrection tank, since the technology no longer worked. That seance you saw was the Big 5 creators downloading all the resurrection technology for the Cylons, to get them to accept peace. The download was interrupted (with a spine-tingling scene), so there was no hope for Anders to come back to life.

Thanks for the clarifications. Some creative, elaborate thought went into making this series, and I'm rather impressed. I even wonder if some of the authors may have spent some time in Portugal over the past decade? Here's what I mean:
