You can't wait to find out what an event is in the atmosphere or above it. You have to be prepared. You should know: your location in latitude and longitude; observation stations in your vicinity such as observatories and radar installations, points of contact for astronomy clubs, and predictions of satellite decays, meteor storms, weather and other atmospheric phenomenon.
