Whilst I do not begrudge him the award, he has certainly done a lot to popularise science in the USA and in many other countries, I really do wish people would remember he is not a scientist, he is a mechanical engineer.

And I will stay quiet as to why I left the Planetary Society after he took over as CEO.

The line between "scientist" and "engineer" is pretty broad and very faint. I think you need to be some of both to be very successful in either.
