Looking at the sky last night...

If you draw a straight line through Orions belt, and extend that line down about 4 or 5 times the lenth of orinons belt, there is either a bright star or a planet.

Anyone know what this is?

I'll cheat and tell you...
It is Sirius, the brightest star in the sky at magnitude -1.5

Stunning, isn't it!

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Yep, definitely Sirius. A jewel of the night sky, especially because its brightness (and low altitude) make it prone to "twinkling" through every color of the rainbow as the Earth's atmosphere moves in front of it.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
