Attention!!! Be advised that a butterfly shaped formation has been imaged on Mars' surface. This is no doubt the proof of intelligence that we have been waiting for! No natural process can ever explain how a geologic pattern on Mars could take the unusual pattern outlining an Earth butterfly. This is also evidence that the Martians have been watching our planet very closely and have catalogued some of our insect species. Don't be misled by skeptics who will scoff and point out that formations such as these can indeed form naturally or by a chance meteor impact.
How many artificial structures must we perceive on Mars before the skeptics relent? We need to mount a manned mission ASAP to investigate this insect image in person, along with the Face and other obvious designed features. It's as plain as a cloud formation shaped like an eagle. These clouds are obviously shaped by spirits of the generations of eagles long since passed. What other logical explanation could there be? But that topic is for another day when I haven't forgotten my meds.......

In reply to:

perceive

Thats the operative word. People *think* they see without proof. The human brain and imagination is an incredible device.

It must be the skeleton of a huge butterfly left from a bygone era of giant animals, ya know, worms as such.

Stop wasting our time. Do you want to see another 'butterfly' impact zone?

Try the Tunguska impact site, with a butterfly pattern of tree blowdown from the high altitude explosion of the stony asteroid. The Yucatan Dino-killer impact site also sports a butterfly shape.

Here is another one on Mars:
http://www.msss.com/mars_images/moc/2005/06/22/

and another:
http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA00474
and another:
http://www.marstoday.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=10264

Another impact site, here on earth, is the Rio Cuarto site in Argentina, which also has a butterfly pattern.

Impact shapes like this happen when the impactor is coming in at a very shallow angle, 10 degrees or less. Read this paper:
http://www.apl.ucl.ac.uk/lectures/3c11/impacts2.pdf, particularly page 4, for an explaination.
