China mulls using lunar satellites to probe the cosmic dark ages

I suppose the ten satellites are evenly space in an equatorial orbit which would provide for some of them always to be in the Earth and Sun's shadow. They could hand off the observation duties. They could not be at L2 since, from there, the Moon only subtends .18° and the Earth .49 degrees as compared to the Sun's diameter of .53°.
