A Chang Zheng 4B launched two Shijian-6 (Practice-6) satellites into polar orbit from Taiyuan Launch Center in China's north Shanxi Province on October 23, 2006 (UTC).

The launch was the 50th consecutive "Chang Zheng" launch success since the last failure in 1996.

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2006-10/24/content_5240968.htm

Chang Zheng (Long March) has now flown four times in 2006, tying it with Ariane 5 and Zenit 3SL for second-busiest (behind R-7/Soyuz, of course). A fifth CZ launch is planned to occur soon.

- Ed Kyle

http://www.geocities.com/launchreport/slr.html
