I've looked around at proposed and future missions to search for extrasolar planets by looking for their wobble.

Are there any plans for a telescope that has the capability of directly imaging extrasolar planets?

Yes, a number of telescopes should have that capability, at least for some of the bigger extrasolar planets. In fact, it's already been done. Cehck this out: The First Image of an Extra Solar Planet

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
