Where's the Kaboom? There has to be a kaboom!!!

These are among the best IMO of all cartoons there are. Mel Blanc and the crew that did these have not been replaced at all.

I enjoy classical music, and especially set to Bugs and his crew. My other favorite has to be the Valkarie Opera cartoon as well.

Well Done with all your lurking around in those undiscovered sites. Thanks, Henry

It may be illegal to put something like that on Yahoo. I doubt the copyright expired on that. Time Warner would want royalties.

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

In reply to:

Mel Blanc ... that did these have not been replaced at all.

Well, someone did a very good imitation of the correct voices for some of the latest Looney Tunes revival stuff. This includes Duck Dogers (the series); a series with Tweety, Grandma, and Sylvester; and several specials. The latest special I saw had Daffy as Scrooge, Sylvester as a ghost, Tweety and Grandma teaming up as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Sam as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Taz as the Ghost of Christmas Future.

In each case, the voices are slightly different, but for the most part, they are very close.

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

IIRC, intellectual ownership lasts 50 years. This particular cartoon (1953) would be just over the deadline then. That was to my understanding.

If, of course, I am wrong, no intended harm was meant.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Will,

No bother either way. That is an offical Yahoo site, and I have most of those 'toons in my collection anyway,(bought that is). Other favorites would be, Speedy Gonzales, Rocky and Bullwinkle shows, Foghorn Leghorn, (fortunely I have my feathers numbered for just such an occasion), and others.

As for the new Loony Toons, yes some of them are just as excellent. But they are still Loony Toons, and still are the same characters with the same wit and talent.

I did like the new Loony Toons movie, Back in Action, and enjoyed the cafeteria scene with all those old favorites, to numerous to mention.

Babs and Buster are some of my new favorites there as well. And to add to the previous post, let me include Roadrunner in that group.

Without a doubt, the incomparable Pinky and the Brain. Priceless. A magnificent example of the witty, adult-oriented 30's/40's/50's Warner Brother 'Toons brought into the late 20th Century.

Just an opinion, mind.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Yevaud,

He HAS come up with some winners that can be used even today, hasn't he. I liked the saying when he gave up to the young chick that was smarter then him, when he said, "hey boy, got any more of those long haired books?"

For Christmas, with considerable hinting, I received:
Animaniacs, Volume 1 (550 minutes)
Pinky and the Brain Volume 2 (480 minutes)
Forbidden PLanet 50th Anniversery Edition
ALF, season 3

I am in heaven. Haven't watched Forbidden planet yet, waiting till this afternoon when no one is around so I can enjoy it with the cats.

Did one disk each of the other three, carpet will need to be cleaned due to excessive ROTFPIMPs

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Will is one of the last non-believers I think. And he also doesn't think much of pet cats. We have 3 cats and 1 dog in our house, and at times they do almost seem like human. But they are mostly my wifes critters, mostly the dog. The dog only likes me when I take her for a walk when we play tag trying to get a leash on it.

What do you say to that Will?

Actually, I like cats and would like to have one one day. I grew up with a cat that we got at six months old. She had one kitten with a leg that was malformed (backwards ankle). Other kittens in that litter were never found. She might have eaten their remains. We then sterialized her. She lived to almost 19 years old. Which of you has a cat that old?

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

None of my current crew is that old, but Beanie was 21 when she passed away.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. My mother-in-law had an old Siamese that was 28 years old. They got the cat as a kitten when my wife was 15. Damn thing was mean as hell til the day she died. A real ankle biter. she would hide under the couch and wait for someone, anyone, to pass by then out she would pounce. You always wore thick socks when you went to visit Grammy. Her name was Buffy, but all the grandkids called her "Bites".

My wife and I had a calico that lived nearly 21 years. We got her when she was, according to the vet, about 3, just before my oldest son was born and she died when he was 18.
