That's too bad.
"Inland Empire" has the best single scene in all of movie-making history, in my opinion. Unfortunately the average movie-goer won't make it a half hour into the film, and the whole thing runs for nearly 3 hours, with the scene in question (involving some Hollywood street people) is maybe 75% of the way through.
"Mulholland Drive" is about as mind-warping as films get. I wasn't the same for at least a day after first seeing it.
Lynch's work will be looked at and studied for a long time.
