Earth may have had all the elements needed for life all along − contrary to meteorite origin theories

I saw a documentary on DW that seemed to imply that when the proto-Moon collided with the proto-Earth that it drove a lot of volatiles deep inside the planet. Which was a new insight to me.
Which presumably left volatiles to slowly percolate back up to the surface and might have contributed to tectonic actions as well.
