I am not sure what you are presuming here. The direction of rotation has nothing to do with the amount of solar insolation. It would shorten the day slightly but then you would get more days per year.<br /><br />It would have profound effects on the directions of ocean currents. The currents on the west side of continents tend to flow towards the equator. On the east side they flow away from the equator. That would likely reverse.<br /><br />California would have warm water!
