I read Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" last night, and I enjoyed it. I believe there is a related book "Speakers for the Dead", has anyone read this and is it good as well (given that I liked EG)?

There are 4 books in this series

"Ender's Game"
"Speaker for the Dead"
"Xenocide"
"Children of the Mind"

I've only read "Ender's Game" myself (and liked it very much), but I've heard that "Speaker for the Dead" are almost as good, though a bit more slow paced. I have "Speaker for the Dead" somewhere and I'm going to read it soon, so I hope it's as good as people claim it is.

I remember enjoying it, but it was about fifteen years ago or something like that. Can't remember much offhand.

I wish I could remember
But my selective memory
Won't let me - Mark Oliver Everett

Thanks for the info, guess I'll vest a few more hours in this author and read Speakers... If that's good then I'll go for more.

There are many books in the series, such as Ender's Shadow, about Bean, and I can't remember the other titles, but there's a book about Peter and another about Valentine, and basicly a lot of novels that tie the whole story together.

I've read all of the books in the Ender's Game series. I really enjoyed it, but the last book, Children of the Mind, was a bit too much like a soap opera for me.

right, there's enders shadow, and shadow of the hegemon (and maybe another) that follow the fallout on earth, and peters rise to power.

I prefered those books over the rest of the ender's series, as they seem more in line with the original enders game.

Then again, both were completely valid, and well done story lines. I recommend both (but more on the ender's shadow side).

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

They are all excellent books. However, towards the end, the series does slow down a bit. I highly recommend them though. Orson Scott Card is an exceptional writer. I would also recommend just about any of his other books/series. He has an excellent way of presenting his characters and stays away from archetypical characterizations.

I put on my robe and wizard hat...

I got to read it in 12th grade about 10 years ago. I thought it was great. I read another one of the books but can't remember which one.

Supposedly they are making a movie of Ender's Game, but haven't heard anything on it in a while.
