At least three ESA space missions are under threat as a result of Trump's budget cuts. The gravitational wave observatory LISA, Venus orbiter EnVision, and NewAthena may require "recovery actions."

If NASA becomes an unreliable partner for ESA missions then ESA will have to look elsewhere for partnerships, possibly China, Japan and India.....

For technological reliability, China would be the obvious choice.

Not so sure about the geopolitical reliability.
