If it did occur, it'd be one hell of a light show for a short while. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><em>Differential Diagnosis:  </em>"<strong><em>I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are</em></strong>."<br /> </p> </div>

I'm not sure that would be a light show I would want to have front row seating for <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><br /><img id="06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53" src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/6/14/06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53.Large.jpg" alt="blog post photo" /></p> </div>

RIP Bearack.<br />Vaporized near Jupiter during fusion burst. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. Ah, yes gravity and mass again. Speaking on Jupiter...I have some questions. How is Jupiter so massive if it's just a ball of mostly gas? Does the metallic hydrogen make up most of the weight? It should be able to float just like Saturn...? <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font size="2" color="#14ea50"><strong><font size="1">We are born.  We live.  We experiment.  We rot.  We die.  and the whole process starts all over again!  Imagine That!</font><br /><br /><br /><img id="6e5c6b4c-0657-47dd-9476-1fbb47938264" style="width:176px;height:247px" src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/14/4/6e5c6b4c-0657-47dd-9476-1fbb47938264.Large.jpg" alt="blog post photo" width="276" height="440" /><br /></strong></font> </div>

Based on the images of the meteor impacts, Jupiters mass seems to be quite large, still. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><br /><img id="06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53" src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/6/14/06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53.Large.jpg" alt="blog post photo" /></p> </div>

Massive gas.....A gas planet that has more mass than a rocky planet....it's beyond me...<br /><br />That concludes it, Jupiter doesn't has enough gravity to pull all that gas inward to build a fusion/fission reaction.... just a wild thought.... <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font size="2" color="#14ea50"><strong><font size="1">We are born.  We live.  We experiment.  We rot.  We die.  and the whole process starts all over again!  Imagine That!</font><br /><br /><br /><img id="6e5c6b4c-0657-47dd-9476-1fbb47938264" style="width:176px;height:247px" src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/14/4/6e5c6b4c-0657-47dd-9476-1fbb47938264.Large.jpg" alt="blog post photo" width="276" height="440" /><br /></strong></font> </div>

What it is made of; Gas, Rock, Metals, makes no difference.<br />It's what it all "weighs".<br /><br />Jupiter has 1410 times the volume of the earth, so it's 1410 times bigger.<br /><br />The mass is 318 times that of earth. It is less than the volume difference because Jupiter has so much hydrogen, as opposed the the earth's heavier materials. If it were made of the same stuff as the earth it would be 4 times heavier (or we would be 4 times lighter.)<br /><br />Wayne <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Huh? You mean the comet impacts? (Shoemaker-Levy 9) <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. Garg....<br /><br />Yes, the comet impacts. They were quite impressive. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><br /><img id="06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53" src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/6/14/06322a8d-f18d-4ab1-8ea7-150275a4cb53.Large.jpg" alt="blog post photo" /></p> </div>
