thanks, but I only wanted to know what is in this book or film about this Id, not what it is in real life

The definition I gave is what it is in the movie. The Krell, the ancient alien race, created a machine that boosts intelligence. By increasing intelligence/brain power, a monster was created based on the human's part of the brain called the ID. The monsters are what killed the Krell and Dr. Morbuis' monster of the ID is what is killing the crew of the United Planets Cruiser C-57D.

It's a great DVD (actually the Anniversery edition has 2 DVDs)with lots of extras.
