Hap Griffin / Disabling IR filter on DSLRs

<p>I just got my first real DSLR. I want to do whatever astrophotography that I can with it.. It's a D90, so far I only have the 18-105mm kit lens. I'll be getting more of whatever it needs in a year or so, when I've learned how to use what I've got well enough.</p><p>My question - someone told me to look up Hap Griffin for a way to disable the IR filter on the camera, as that's substracting deep red hydrogen light from many objects. Does anyone know about any of this? It seems to be worth it. So far the camera seems very capable. </p><p>Thanks. </p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>
