a post can be deleted at any time.

However, once replied to, the post is not completely removed. The contents of the post are replaced with "this post has been deleted".

if no one has replied to it, it'll disapper completely.

There is rarely a need to delete a post.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

1) Click the "Edit" link in the post's upper right-hand corner.
2) Click the "Delete this post" button.
3) I believe you will be prompted for confirmation.

This will delete your post, unless it has replies (like your post at the top of this thread, for instance ). This is to support the "threaded view" of threads. They show in flat mode by default, but you can select threaded mode". In threaded mode, if you delete a post with replies, it'll orphan the replies. So, instead, the board just replaces the deleted post with one saying "deleted by <username>".

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
