i`ve found it fascinating the Russian sites are almost never mentioned. i`d certainly think the first hard-landed artifact site would be worth preserving. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

The Russians never get the credit they deserve for their accomplishments in space. They have a lot of firsts to their credit, but, I think, because they did not get the first in the moon race - people forget the others.<br /><br />Wayne<br /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p>"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything."  Admiral Jackie Fisher</p> </div>

Also, it's probably worth having a look at one of the S-IVB impact sites, I wonder how big a crater they made!

Thank you! I wondered about that too! I also wonder what the Ascent Stage we put in heliocentric orbit looks like today.<br /><br />Wayne <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p>"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything."  Admiral Jackie Fisher</p> </div>

i`ve been thinkin of a spacejunk@home program. we should take a complete inventory of known artifacts. this would include MarsJunk, MoonJunk, GeoJunk, Leojunk. this would if nothing else make it easier to navigate around it. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>
