Hello everyone.
I am a 21 year old boy who loves space and science with a passion. For as long as I can remember I have looked up at the stars and our moon and wondered what was going on with all of it. Every time I see the moon I am just as blown away as the last, same with the stars, they just never get old. I have a good ability to grasp the concepts and I have learned everything I know about space and the universe on my own time. When I was younger in high school I blew it hard. Hardly ever went to class, barely graduated, didn't take any advance science or math courses. I am now older and after having not gone to post secondary for anything I feel it is time in my life to do something, and I feel space is what I want to do.
Now my problem is I have absolutely no idea specifically what I want to do in the field of 'space'. I love it all, I have no idea where to begin. I imagine I would need to take some high school science and math courses to get the grades and the knowledge I need to progress further with this...I just have no idea what to do or where to start. It is very overwhelming.
Right now I live in Vancouver near UBC but my family lives in Ontario near McMaster University. I feel I would like to go to one of these schools eventually.
This is probably a weird place to be asking this, I just figure you guys have a good understanding of the schooling aspects of all of this. Have any of you been in a similar situation as me? Where do I start? What courses should I be trying to get into at University?
Thanks for any help you can offer. I frequent this site every day and love learning about space and I want to take it to the next level and eventually be someone figuring out stuff other people read articles about!
