They're going to fit all of that into two hours?

Superficial treatment of important characters?

I wonder how the economy and the poor performance of the Hulk has impacted their plans for
rolling out a series of these movies (Thor, Captain America, Avengers etc.) over the next several
years?

Wayne

(Hawkeye during his phase as the second Giant Man/Goliath? Probably not)

No, more likely a longer movie...but not 3 hours. Also remember that some of those characters may be making short appearances in prep for Iron Man 3 and the Nick Fury and Avengers movies. All told Samuel L. alone is signed up for at least 9 movies.

Poor performance?

Incredible Hulk made $264,000,000 with a budget of $150 million, so it did pretty damned good. DVD/BR sales were #1 for quite a while and rentals did very well too.

Average score at RottenTomatoes.com was 66, middling but still respectable, and scored a B+ on BoxOfficeMojo - also respectable for the genre.

Effect on the others? Made them even more likely to get big budgets.
