Interesting article. Note: One would think that an astute businessman like Mr. Bezos would be well versed in the complications of NASA contracts. Anyone remember the $1K toilets.

I think the fact that SpaceX has already tested its engines and its second stage to destruction, and are well on their way to testing their first stage and doing a trial run on launching their two-stage setup into orbit, explains the reason why with a pitifully tight budget, NASA chose to go with them and not with Blue Origin.
