I believe it will be a penumbral eclipse, which are usually not at all spectacular.....in fact, you may not even notice it.

Yeah in the Observers Handbook it says it is hard to recognize, I just figured if I were out at the time it was supposed to be taking place I'd like to atleast see if I can start to notice some of the differences in appearence and all. I have yet to be able to traslate CT. time into UT, but it does say in UT it shoud be happening between 14:00-15:00, yeah well I kind of figured (more of a guess) that, that was 9 pm. ct. I don't know though. Thanks anyway.

I don't know what CT is, since it fits no known time zones I am aware of. Do you mean CDT?

But of course, CT would stand for Central Time, you don't watch much tv do you, you know the time zones 8 et.-7 ct. O yes to answer your initial question I did mean Central Time Zone.

LOL, I watch as little TV as I can :)

OK, so 1400-1500 UT would be 9-10 AM CDT, so you wouldn't have been able to see anything in the daytime anyhow. During a Full Moon (which is the only time a lunar eclipse can occur), the moon rises at sunset and sets at sunrise, so is not visible in the daytime at all.

Here is a list from NASA on past and future Lunar Eclipses:

Lunar Eclipses: Past and Future

The following links give detailed descriptions of all eclipses of the Sun and Moon from 2000 through 2008. The original reports were published in the annual Observer's Handbook of Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

The table below lists every lunar eclipse from 2006 through 2015. Click on the eclipse Date to see a map and diagram of an eclipse. Durations are given for both partial and total (in bold) phases. Click on the Region of Eclipse Visibility to see a detailed description of an eclipse.

Hi matthewota,

Welcome to SDC!

At SDC, we like to have you provide a link to the source of data that you copy and paste. Appreciate it if you can add that.

Thanx for the information, I needed that list for a class I am teaching!!
